Dynamic Events

Shambles PvE features dynamic world events that appear at random, pre-determined locations across the map.

Airdrops: Airdrops are covered in the Wiki. View Wiki Airdrops Guide

Dynamic Event

Heli Crashsites

There are two types of helicopter wrecks: the American UH-1Y-Venom crashes and the Soviet MI-8 crashes.

The crash sites can be found spawning at predetermined, but randomly chosen, locations throughout the map. The wrecks are a source of high tier military loot.

A freshly spawned crash site creates a loud explosion that can be heard for several kilometers, making it easier for survivors in proximity to pinpoint its location; however, crash sites are usually accompanied by 3–7 military infected and are often a hotspot for other survivors, requiring caution while looting.

Airplane Crates

There are 3 different types of crates: Civilian, Medical and Military. Each type of crate spawns loot from its respective loot category.

Wrecked Trains

The train wreck consists of a single 742 train locomotive attached to a combination of different types of carriages, including train wagons, sea containers or military containers. It spawns randomly at pre-determined locations.

There are two variants of the abandoned 742 train: the civilian and the military version. They can be told apart by their appearance, with civilian trains being monotone or plain wood-coloured while military versions are painted in a classic camo pattern.

Wagons and locomotives found in civilian trains spawn loot relative to their natural spawn tables.

Police Checkpoints

Across the roads of DayZ, players can encounter small dynamic police situations — abandoned checkpoints or crash scenes that hint at a failed attempt to control the outbreak. These roadside events usually feature wrecked police vehicles, barricades, and a few infected officers guarding the area.

For survivors, these locations are worth investigating. Police checkpoints are one of the better early-game places to find pistols, ammunition, police clothing, and tactical items like handcuffs or grenades. Because they spawn dynamically across the map, you’ll often discover them while travelling along roads between towns.

They’re quick to loot, relatively low risk compared to military zones, and can provide useful gear early in your journey — making them a common stop for players moving inland.

Military Convoys

Military convoys contain modest amounts of military loot, with some being able to spawn high tier military equipment. This makes these wreckages valuable, as survivors can obtain military-grade equipment without needing to visit military bases or camps.

Much like helicopter crash sites, these convoys appear randomly at predetermined locations.

How Events Work

  1. Events are announced in Discord with the time, location, requirements and reward details.
  2. Players should read event instructions carefully before joining.
  3. Normal server rules still apply unless staff clearly announce event-specific rules.
  4. Bring the gear you are willing to risk. Compensation is not guaranteed for event mistakes.
  5. Respect staff instructions, other players and the event area.
